In the 1980s, the EPA, under administrator Anne Gorsuch (mother to Neil), gutted a scientific report on dioxin (because gull eggs in the Great Lakes were found to have high levels of dioxin in them) with the help of Dow Chemical because Dow was the company causing the dioxin releases to the Great Lakes. In other words, she allowed Dow’s name to be deleted from the entire report and removed prohibitions on consumption of fish from the same area. The corruption was investigated and Anne Gorsuch was forced to resign.
