Down East, September 2020

Down East Magazine Editor in Chief, Brian Kevin, and I started a chat in July when he asked to publish an excerpt from Mill Town, and we realized we had a lot to talk about regarding Maine’s environment, economy, and its towns and the people who live there. This talk is a continuation of that conversation and about the excerpt Down East will publish (on stands and in homes by August 18th).

Brian himself has published work in The New York Times, Outside, Audubon, Sierra, Men's Journal, Travel + Leisure, Mother Jones, High Country News, and other publications. He’s the author of The Footloose American: Following the Hunter S. Thompson Trail Across South America, which won the Maine Literary Award for Nonfiction. He lives in midcoast Maine.
